Easter!!

Wow, what a week! I am so blessed to be working with Sister DeArton this transfer. Together we are working on teaching a couple of lessons in Tongan and she is willing to run with me in the mornings so that we don't put on weight. A perfect companionship! I'm am so excited to see what is going to happen in our area this transfer.

Well, I can honestly say that for about a month now I have been counting down the days until General Conference and it's finally almost here. I have so many questions I need answered and I know that they will be answered through the words of the prophets this weekend. Yay! I'm also excited that Easter is coming up soon too. Today we received Easter Care Packages from the Young Women in a ward in Sandy and I just feel so blessed to be a missionary at this time.

As I've been thinking about Easter and the Atonement of Jesus Christ, I was reading a talk by Elder Neal A Maxwell and I want to share a part of it with you that really touched me. This helps me understand how I can relate and apply the Atonement more fully as I strive to be more like Christ. He says,

"Partaking of a bitter cup without becoming bitter is likewise part of the emulation of Jesus. We too may experience moments of mortal aloneness. These moments are nothing compared to what Jesus experienced. Our prayers may occasionally contain some "whys".

Certain mortal "whys" are not really questions at all but are expressions of resentment. Other "whys" imply that the trial might be all right later on but not now. Some "why me" questions, asked amid stress, would be much better as "what" questions, such as "what is required of me now?"

I love this as I think about how often I question the Lord's will for me. "Faith in the Lord includes faith in His timing!" This week as Easter approaches, turn to the Savior and His Atonement as you strive to make sense out of life. I promise that you will feel His love so strongly and you will learn to COME WHAT MAY AND LOVE IT. That is what the Atonement is all about....happiness. I love you so much and I hope that you are looking forward to Conference and Easter as much as I am!

Love,

Sister Stringer
