Never a Dull Moment

Hi!  I'm so glad it's Pday today, it's definitely nice to have a little (very little) break during the week.  Well, the good news is that Sister DeArton and I have a baptism scheduled for May 1st.  Her name is Moku and she is awesome!  She is an old lady that speaks amazing Pidgen English and I've definitely been blessed with the gift of tongues while teaching her.  Sister DeArton waits for me to react and then she acts accordingly because she has a really hard time understanding what she says.  Moku has sacrificed so much for the gospel and has had such a difficult life.  She had a baptism date in April but she wasn't able to go through with it because she was in the hospital but we promised her that if she prayed with faith, the Lord would prepare a way for her to get baptized in May.  We were over at her home a couple of days ago and she told us with tears in her eyes "My baptism is going to be the happiest day of my life!"  When we were leaving, she gave me a kiss on the cheek and said "Sister Stringer, don't forget about me.  I love you."  It's true what it says in the scriptures about receiving a fulness of joy as you share the gospel.  I've never been so happy in my whole life!  Moku is a woman of great faith, despite all of the hardships that she has faced in her life.  I'm humbled to play a part in this great work and to see the hand of God in each individual life.  He knows and loves each of us and just wants us to be happy.

You know how there are wild chickens running around everywhere up here in Laie?  The other day we were teaching a lesson at a home that has wild chickens couped up in the backyard.  Their home doesn't really have walls and so we taught with all the chickens squawking during the lesson.  I couldn't even hear myself think and I definitely couldn't focus.  Gotta love the wild chickens.  We just laughed afterwards because it was so ridiculous.  There had to have been hundreds of them.

Mason, you are a star, thank you so much for sending me the Jazz updates.  I'm glad that you all had a good time in California.  Happy Summer!

Lots of love,
Sister Stringer

PS- Congratulations Janae, I got your wedding announcement in the mail.  It seems like just yesterday we were talking about what you thought would happen when he got home from his mission :)  Woohoo!
