Its been an overwhelming week to say the least but I am truly counting my blessings. Transfers were yesterday so I am now officially in my 3rd transfer. I had a feeling that I would be staying in the Tongan ward but we were pretty sure that Sister Latu would be transferred and I would take over the area. She's been in that area for 8 months! So, I was trying to get used to the idea of staying in the Tongan ward and trying to learn as much as I could before transfers. Serving in this area has been overwhelming at times and I would get nervous just thinking about the possibility of being in the ward without her. Long story short, transfers have come and gone and sure enough Sister Latu was transferred out of the area and I will stay for another 6 weeks. But.....
SURPRISE!!!!
I have also been called to TRAIN A NEW MISSIONARY. Aaaaahhhhh. Fresh from the MTC. So, my new companion is Sister DeArton from Everett, Washington and we will be the only white girls in a Tongan Ward, preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to all who will hear....or understand.
I feel the weight of this calling on my shoulders and I don't think I've ever cried or prayed so much in my whole life. President Peterson said that he has no doubts that this is where I need to be and what I need to be doing right now...that it truly is a call from the Lord. It gives me hope that the Lord qualifies who He calls and that we will see miracles in our area this transfer because I know He will be beside us every step of the way. Isn't nice to know that you never have to do things alone with the Lord on your side? It gives me so much comfort and peace knowing that He will be watching out for me, as He does for all of His children as we put our faith in Him.
I guess I'll have to continue working on my Tongan!
